Technophobia in Post-Modern Horror
The tradition of technophobia in horror media spans a variety of sub-genres from J-Horror like Pulse and Ringu to abstract sci-fi horror like Annihilation. This conversation examines horror through the lenses of post-humanism, primitivism, and the rise of AI/robotics specifically within post-modern horror film. Are these films a reflection of our reliance or harbingers of a more sinister future?
