Research Reimagined: Scholarship in the Age of AI In-Person
Artificial intelligence is transforming every stage of the research lifecycle – from discovering literature and generating ideas to analyzing data, communicating findings, securing funding, and preparing the next generation of scholars. As these technologies become increasingly integrated into research, they are creating new opportunities to accelerate discovery while raising important questions about trust, integrity, equity, and the evolving role of human expertise.
This retreat brings together faculty from across disciplines to examine how AI is reshaping the creation, evaluation, and dissemination of knowledge. Through keynote presentations, panel discussions, and an interactive AI Research Studio, participants will explore emerging research methods, consider the ethical and legal implications of AI-enabled scholarship, examine how AI is changing research training and scholarly practice, and engage with practical tools that can enhance their own work. Throughout the day, the focus remains not simply on learning new technologies, but on cultivating the judgment, curiosity, and critical thinking needed to conduct rigorous, responsible, and impactful research in an AI-enabled world.
