This year, the Center for Teaching Excellence has focused on accessibility in the classroom. In this keynote, Liz Norell will broaden the aperture of this work, looking at how accessibility can and should inform work throughout the campus community. With a focus on practical strategies, this keynote will appreciate the complexities of disability accommodations, the challenges of anticipating multiple potential points of access friction, and the overwhelm many faculty and staff can feel when trying to adopt accessible practices. Participants will identify potential access barriers in their work, understand why taking steps to mitigate those barriers matters, and recognize how this work can make a positive impact on the workforce readiness of our students.
